The Blackbutt is a fine tuned blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (67%), Malbec (17%), Cabernet Franc (16% from the oldest blocks of estate grown fruit. The parcels are fermented separately in small open fermenters and hand plunged 3 times a day before pressing and maturation in French oak for 20 months.
Deep crimson with ruby hues. Lifted aromas of cassis, cedar and dried herbs. Rich red fruit flavours with dark chocolate notes and fleshy mid palate sweetness is supported by fine grained tannins.
A collection of iconic wines to the Alkoomi family. These wines are made from the oldest plantings on the property as early as 1971. Each parcel of fruit is individually crafted, tasted and blended. Named after the ancient Eucalyptus trees growing throughout the property and only made in exceptional years, these wines are crafted for cellaring and entice the taste buds of wine enthusiasts.
