A single vineyard in the Wilyabrup sub-region of Margaret River is sourced for this wine. This vineyard consistently produces perfectly balanced parcels of Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec and Petit Verdot.

The site is completely dry grown on gravel loam soils and the quality of the site is reflected in its ability to grow healthy well balanced canopies and ultimately grapes. Season as with every vintage, challenges arise from mother nature. Lots of hard work and grapes from the sub-region of Margaret River, that consistently produces perfectly balanced Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec and Petit Verdot.

The Amelia Park Reserve Cabernet has a complex bouquet of blueberry, cassis, violet and graphite.

Its palate is beautifully balanced and finely structured showing luscious red berry fruits and smooth fine tannins. Aged in French oak for 18 months this wine offers excellent cellaring potential.

    Variety: Cabernet Sauvignon

    Country of Origin:

    Region: Wilyabrup, WA

    Vintage: 2018

    Award:

"Open fermented, held on skins for 2 months, with a further 18 months barrel maturation This long plunging maceration requires constant attention to detail, but Jeremy Gordon has avoided any problem in this cassis/blackcurrant medium-bodied cabernet, complexed by forest floor notes."  97 Points and James Halliday Top 100 Wines of 2021.  hallidaywinecompanion.com.au, 22 November, 2021

Cabernet can be so exciting when it walks the tightrope between ripe/succulent/supple and herbaceous (fresh garden herbs, with sprinklings of Margaret River salt bush). This is everything we expect from the perfect 2018 vintage: concentrated ripe cassis, raspberry, pomegranate and red licorice. The acidity is bright and salty and punched deep into the fruit. The oak, wherever that is, is completely, seamlessly integrated. A triumphant wine. Bravo. Rating: 97 Points.  Erin Larkin  James Halliday Wine Companion 2022, 13 August, 2021
