Bright vibrant purple in the glass. Lifted aromatics of cranberry, bramble, and cherry. Herbal characters abound on the palate, with rosehip, just-ripe strawberry, and blood orange flavours. A rasp of light tannin provides good length and a savoury finish. The Trenerry Grenache has great energy and vitality in a light to medium bodied frame.

The lightest and most ethereal of the single-vineyard explorations. Onkaparinga Hills. Fermented wild as 100% whole bunches before pressing to large-format French oak, as is the wont here. Orange macerated with cinnamon. Pink grapefruit. Clove. Dill pickle. Orangina. Cranberry. The tannins, diaphanous and frisky, etching the gums while eking out the long finish. This is more nebbiolo of feel than pinot, grenache's stylistic brethren. I would argue that while fascinating, it could use some mid-palate stuffing and a smidge more physiological ripeness in its strive toward completion. Delicious all the same.
