Deep, garnet red. Blackcurrant, Doris plum and the complexity of butter sautéed chanterelle mushrooms round out an exceptionally lifted palate defined by the sheer concentration of ripe fruit flavours. Sweet plum, redcurrant and blackberry are interwoven with cinnamon and mocha notes. The tannins offer a savoury counterpoint to the sweetness of fruit and the traditional hallmark of being powder fine in texture. This Sophia is sure to be one of the longest-lived since its inception.
    An instant classic.

Very deep, bright red-purple colour and a concentrated aroma of classic cabernet blackberry/blackcurrant, superbly intense and vibrant. The palate shows great flavour and concentration as well as lovely texture. Amazing power and persistence allied with refinement. Velvet tannins. The oak component is nigh invisible. A wonderful red wine of outstanding potential. (65% merlot, 22% cabernet franc, 13% cabernet sauvignon).

A gorgeous, polished and curated red with blackcurrant, blueberry and cherry aromas. together with hints of crushed stone and graphite. Medium to full body, a creamy texture and flavorful finish. A blend of merlot, cabernet sauvignon, and cabernet franc. So impressive to drink now, but this will age beautifully. Drink or hold. Screw cap.

Sophia is the Merlot-dominant blend that includes varying proportions of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, depending on the season. In 2020, the wine comprises 60% Merlot, 21% Cabernet Franc and 19% Cabernet Sauvignon. On the nose, the 2020 Sophia is laden with garden mint, mulberry coulis, red apple skins, poached rhubarb and a hint of arnica root. In the mouth, the wine is textural, plush and full. It has a mulch, green, garden-derived character that works in tandem with the tannins. It's an elegant, engaging and enveloping wine.
