2024 Crawford River 'Strata' Riesling
“The 2023/4 season provided very even growing conditions, resulting in wines of great purity and definition. It was dream vintage and the best seen at Crawford River in a number of years.”
Intense, white florals and powdery, musk perfume. Fresh, white peach. Chalky texture, underpinned by a long line of innate acidity and minerality. Through the line of acidy, there is softness and a supple roundness that makes this wine utterly delicious drinking.
Both crushed and whole bunches were pressed directly to stainless steel tanks for a natural settle of sediment. Following settle, a combination of spontaneous fermentation and commercial yeast were used to ferment in steel tanks. The wine spent around 8 weeks on lees prior to racking and sulphur addition. No fining agent was used. A further period on fine lees of more than a month, occurred prior to blending and filtration. Bottled September 2024. Screwcap.
