Domaine Jean Dauvissat Père & Fils Premier Cru Montmains
Montmains is exposed south/south- east on the left bank of the river LeSerein. The entire lot contains diverse grounds, on a rather low area that is very sensitive to spring frosting. The defining feature of Montmains is its very marked 'Terroir'- typicality. An extremely stony terroir which brings very pronounced mineral aromas to the wine. A very healthy vintage that arrived at maturity by mid-September. This vintage, characterized by a relatively mild and humid winter followed by a hot and dry spring and summer, is very balanced. The elegant nose expresses fruity flavours. Through its mineral and fruity side, the balanced palate continues with the same aromatics. Long finish. A mature nose with white- flesh fruit, a slightly acid note and a powerful mineral. A wide palate confirming this nose. The wine is slightly closed during its youth and will need some time to fully express itself. Estimated peak for tasting 2025.
