It opens with aromas of blackberry, black cherry, blueberry, and black plum, layered with violet, cracked pepper, smoked meat, and dark herbs—classic Cornas aromatics, darker and more brooding than Saint‑Joseph or Côte‑Rôtie. On the palate, it is full‑bodied, dense, and firmly structured, showing flavors of dark berry fruit, plum skin, black pepper, and savory spice, supported by grippy, assertive tannins and bright, energetic acidity. Compared to Cuilleron’s Saint‑Joseph cuvées, Le Village is more powerful, more tannic, and more earth‑driven, with a clear granite‑iron signature.
