Domaine Yves Cuilleron Saint Joseph 'Cavanos' Syrah
It opens with aromas of blackberry, black cherry, blueberry, and cassis, layered with violet, cracked pepper, smoked herbs, and a touch of graphite. Compared to the entry cuvée, the aromatics here feel denser, darker, and more brooding. On the palate, it is medium‑ to full‑bodied, structured, and finely sculpted, showing flavors of dark berry fruit, plum skin, black pepper, and savory spice, supported by firmer, more assertive tannins and bright, energetic acidity. The granite slopes of Saint‑Joseph give the wine a vertical, mineral‑driven frame that keeps the richness in check. As it evolves, notes of olive tapenade, dried herbs, smoked meat, and a subtle graphite‑mineral thread emerge, adding depth and complexity.
