2016 Gilbert Brut Rose; 96 Points, Shanteh Wale, James Halliday Wine Companion 2023 Seared salmon hues in the glass. Alpine strawberries, redcurrants and watermelon. Tangelo and nectarine. Orange citrus notes with a hint of pink peppercorn and saffron. Peaky acidity and a dry finish with a touch of Aperol bitters. Sea shell and mineral powder. The wine shows plenty of delicate red fruit but falls into line with the chalky, chiselled style of gilbert sparkling. A exciting addition.
