  It gets the balance right between elegance/finesse and having enough flesh to satisfy. It just feels right. Strawberry and stewed cherry flavours with sweet spice, woodsmoke and (modest) deli meat. It’s lifted and perfumed, especially once it’s had a chance to breathe, and its fine-grained tannin too has been managed to perfection. So it sucks you straight in but it then has the structure and form to impress beyond the immediate.

  Gentle, generous enough and vibrant drinking – the In Dreams Pinot got ‘bottle emptying’ all over it. Compelling in its feather touch red fruit. Not a lot of tannins, and indeed I almost bumped this up to gold medal, except that on day two it was looking a bit faded, which is a nod to the immediacy of the style. A big recommendation for drinking now or in the next year or so, however.
