TarraWarra Estate South Block Chardonnay

2018 was an excellent vintage in the Yarra Valley. A slightly warmer season with a mild autumn allowed lovely flavour development with good balance. Cool nights and warm days gave perfect ripening conditions, with the fruit in excellent condition at harvest. The block ripens over later than other blocks due to the southerly aspect of this site. This Chardonnay is quite a departure from our usual Chardonnay. The perfumed aroma of citrus fruits with a hint of oak flows through the very fine and long palate, with higher acidity and a singular linearity to the palate.
