Tripe.Iscariot 'Stygian Bloom' Cabernet Sauvignon

Tripe.Iscariot was founded in 2012 by South African born and trained winemaker Remi Guise. His philosophy is one based on crafting regionally expressive wines, made from small parcels of fruit from vineyards of exceptional character. Remi's wines are a fusion of his South African roots and his continued Australian vinous exploration.

"Stygian Bloom, surely the lead singer of a goth rock band. OK, it is a very distinct, powerful red. Half the ferment stays on skins for nearly 100 days before blending with the remainder, which initially spent 18 days on skins, then aged 16 months in French barriques (50% new). Everything has come together brilliantly but what’s unusual are the fine, plentiful sandpaper-like tannins that give this shape and detail. Full bodied and full of dark fruit, nori, cedar, black licorice and warm earth."
