You could call Papale a Papal wine. The grapes which this wine is made come from a vineyard that has been in the possession of the Orsini family for many generations. The family is the descendants of the Italian Pope Benedetto XIII, who was elected in 1724. This means that the grounds of the vineyard are considered "papal ground". This primitivo is a powerful and full-bodied red wine with a rounded character. In aroma and taste aromas of ripe berries and plums and some hints of the oak aging. The strong taste is supplemented with tones of herbs and spices. Primitivo grapes carefully selected in the heart of DOP and harvested by hand in small boxes, originate Varvaglione Papale Linea Oro Primitivo. This intense red wine has a round and smooth taste reminiscent of jam and wild berries. A wine that admirably identifies its territory with its important structure, while respecting the elegance that sets it apart. Combines well with powerful and rich dishes such as soft-cooked meat and meat from the grill and with hard cheese types.
