Bright ruby plum in colour with brick red tinges. An incredible multi-layered and complex aroma. Red berry fruits with hints of blackcurrant in the periphery envelop super savoury secondary perfumes of champignons and forest floor. The strong Wilyabrup influence is evident with traces of Peppy Tree, floral violets, subtle orange zest and dried oregano. A refreshing yet powerful palate. The refined and elegant, yet buoyant fruit entry is beautifully balanced by super fine long dry tannins. Complex and finessed.

Sure it has the exuberance of youth, but this will age gracefully. Full of raspberries and currants with a cranberry tang alongside menthol and oak playing a part, but not a lead role. Fine and poised tannins, although acidity is very much a driver this vintage, it’s refreshing and lively. And like seasoning in cooking, the glug of malbec and petit verdot adds another dimension.

Impressive for its complexity and nuances as well as its power. Dried sage, rosemary and bay leaf flavors mingle with tobacco and toasted cumin notes. A core of plum, salted black licorice, blueberry cobbler and cassis flavors is generousand finds some appealing traction on the muscular tannins. Harmonious finish. Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec.
